Raul López’s Spring 2025 Luar show, set outdoors at Rockefeller Plaza, was a vibrant fusion of sound, culture, and fashion. With chucheros (loud car sound systems) lining the runway, the Dominican and Puerto Rican influence was unmistakable, bringing a raw, rebellious energy that perfectly complemented the collection. The show blasted techno and bass-heavy tracks, keeping the energy high throughout.
Drawing inspiration from his teenage years in Brooklyn, López referenced the punk attitude of the late ’90s and early 2000s, blending it with his Dominican heritage. The collection featured dramatic silhouettes—like oversized leather jacket-dresses and taffeta pieces—paired with his signature sculptural designs, including twisted rouleau buttons on workout sets and flocked denim pieces.
López’s “En Boca Quedó” collection also showcased striking details, such as a mermaid skirt in liquid black metal, hoods with boning that created dramatic shapes, and new in-house shoes that are set to be New York’s next big trend. The collection’s final moments were theatrical, with models walking in pieces that turned the runway into a stage.
