Vintage in Pills ALEXANDER MCQUEEN Fall 1998 Paris – Fashion Channel

For Fall ’98, Alexander McQueen closed his show with a stunning, fiery finale: a model trapped in a ring of flames. Titled Joan after the martyr Joan of Arc, the collection was a powerful exploration of tragedy, featuring metal mesh garments and portraits of the Romanov children on dresses. Models with shaved heads and red contact lenses added to the haunting aesthetic.

The dramatic finale was softened by Diana Ross’s voice, singing “You’re gonna make it, you’re gonna make it,” offering a glimpse of redemption amid the fire. McQueen’s Fall ’98 collection perfectly blended suffering with resilience.
