Israeli soldier reveals Gaza buffer zone plan

In an interview with CNN and testimonials to an Israeli NGO, IDF soldiers who were deployed to Gaza are revealing how the military carried out the destruction of civilian infrastructure to create a buffer zone in the Gaza Strip, from which it has banished Palestinians and killed or fired at those who set foot in its unmarked perimeter. These testimonies reveal Israeli military practices that some legal experts say could violate international humanitarian law. CNN has reached out to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for comment about the demolitions and a shoot-to-kill policy in the buffer zone, but has not received a response. CNN’s Jeremy Diamond reports.
