Lizzo Takes Brutal Swipe at Donald Trump’s Tariffs Drama During ‘SNL’ Performance

Her SNL jab came days after Trump announced a tariff rate increase of up to 145 percent on Chinese goods, raising it to 125 percent on top of an already existing 20 percent rate related to Beijing’s fentanyl supply to the U.S. A spokesperson for China’s Finance Ministry warned that continued trade tensions would render tariffs "a joke in the history of the world economy," and asserted, "if the U.S. insists on continuing to substantially infringe on China’s interests, China will resolutely counter and fight to the end."
