Hudson, a former college cheerleader, reached out on February 13 to inquire if UNC was "monitoring" the football program’s social media for any "slanderous commentary" concerning the 72-year-old coach. Hudson also raised concerns about Belichick’s son, Steve, possibly joining the Tar Heels’ coaching staff, suggesting he should be viewed as an individual rather than simply as Bill’s son to avoid perceptions of nepotism. Her involvement in Belichick’s life extends beyond that of a girlfriend; earlier this year, sources indicated that he requested UNC staff to include Hudson in all work-related communications. This request was highlighted in an email exchange between Belichick and Robbi Pickeral Evans, UNC’s senior associate athletic director, regarding "social media and web content."
