Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Yola gives Harper’s BAZAAR an inside look into her work, life and aspirations. Yola started calling herself a singer at age 4 and has since become a musical powerhouse, landing the role of queer gospel legend Rosetta Tharpe in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. Watch along to hear about Yola’s experience auditioning for the role, what it meant to play a woman so integral to Black women in the music industry and what she’d be doing if she wasn’t "an artist out in these streets."
