President Donald Trump faced backlash on social media after suggesting that diversity, equity, and inclusivity (DEI) initiatives within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Department of Transportation may have contributed to a plane crash in Washington, D.C.

During a press conference following the incident, where a plane with 60 passengers and four crew members collided with an Army helicopter near Ronald Reagan National Airport, a reporter asked Trump if he believed diversity hiring was a factor.
