Jimmy Kimmel, while initially skeptical of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential run, believed it would benefit Hillary Clinton, who was contesting him as the Democratic nominee. Asked about his "oh s—" moment regarding Trump’s campaign, Kimmel recalled, "It was 2016, and I had Hillary Clinton on. Kimmel also reflected on the surprise of Trump’s election, comparing it to his shock during the O.J. "A year ago, I would’ve said I’m hoping to show people who aren’t paying attention to the news what’s actually going on, and hoping to change things that way," he said. Ultimately, he attributes Trump’s second-term victory to his celebrity status: "When people ask me why they think Trump won, I really believe the reason, more than anything, is he’s so much more famous than [former Vice President] Kamala Harris.
