New ‘Hunger Games’ Book ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ to Become Movie in 2026 | THR News

Get excited, ‘Hunger Games’ fans, a new novel and a new film are coming! Author Suzanne Collins and her publisher Scholastic revealed early Thursday morning that the fifth book in the ‘The Hunger Games’ series titled ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ will be released on March 18th, 2025. Now, Lionsgate is unveiling plans for a film based on the novel! The story will take place 24 years before the events of the first ‘Hunger Games’ novel, "starting on the morning of the reaping of the Fiftieth Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell."
