A medical research program funded by Congress is on track to be cut by 57% in a stopgap spending bill the Senate is expected to vote on this Friday. The program funds research into cancer and health conditions like traumatic brain injuries affecting veterans, as well as many other diseases and conditions. Senate Republicans told CNN’s Annie Grayer their priority is to make the sure the government doesn’t shut down and to stop waste and fraud. #CNN #News #capitolhill #governmentshutdown
