Tyler Perry sits down with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi to talk about this new legal thriller “Duplicity.” In the film, a high-powered attorney (Kat Graham) faces her most personal case yet when she’s tasked with uncovering the truth behind the shooting of her best friend’s husband. The story tackles themes of police brutality, and Perry spoke about wanting people to “look a little deeper” at everything they read and see. He talked about how the story unfolds through Kat Graham’s characters eyes, and how she is someone who gets angry but also wants to get to the truth. On a broader note, he reflected on what keeps him going after decades in the industry and wanting to make sure others get opportunities and chances. He also opened up about calling out the music industry at Angie Stone’s funeral, noting he’s tired of seeing people being mistreated and having to pay for funerals for people who don’t have the money. “Tyler Perry’s Duplicity” premieres March 20 on Prime Video.
